Laser Setup Operator

Argon Industries, a rapidly growing contract manufacturer of light to medium sheet metal components, is looking for experienced employees.

Requirements include: high school diploma or equivalent, good organizational skills, machine shop experience, mechanical aptitude, and desire to succeed.

Job Description:

To effectively and efficiently setup and operate all laser equipment at Argon Industries.

Position Responsibilities:
Shop Specific:
• Understand that every employee at Argon Industries has the right and the obligation to stop production and contact a supervisor immediately if they deem it to be unsafe and if they have any quality concerns
• Read, interpret and understand blueprints and drawings
• Identify appropriate materials for the job, including the ability to check the type, size, quantity, quality and maintain traceability
• Qualify and then safely operate a forklift
• Properly utilize inspection equipment to accurately complete the job in accordance with ISO procedures
• Understand and adhere to Argon’s Employee Quality Policy & Requirements
• Perform basic machine maintenance along with keeping the necessary records and reporting any issues immediately to your supervisor.
• Complete jobs to customer specifications in a timely manner
• Watch and anticipate potential problems
• Correctly barcode, count and tag parts and document work performed on the traveler
• Maintain an orderly and clean work area at all times


Job Specific:
• Learn and follow all procedures associated with laser department
• Load and edit CNC programs
• Able to assess and address all alarms and keep the machine operating and in good repair
• Maintain production schedule
• Properly maintain, record and handle material


Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have shop experience in laser operations
• Must have own tools
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis
• Must complete a 90 day probationary period.
• Must have safety shoes

Laser Department

• Laser Machines & Computer
o Operate the computer and laser machines to the full extent of its capabilities per the manufacturing specifications
 Nozzles
 Lens 5.0 and 7.5
 Focus
 Centering
o Maintain edge quality at all times
o Adjust offsets accordingly
o Meet or exceed the rates as listed in the NCell reports and MITs cutting conditions
o Properly start up and shut down system


• MSC Computer (Material Handling)
o Operate the computer to the full extent of its capabilities per the manufacturing specifications in both the manual and automated modes
o Trouble shooting; to be able to correct problems and bring the system back online
o Properly schedule the unloading of materials, based on cosmetic and weight requirements
o Properly start up and shut down system
o


• MSC3 Computer (System)
o Operate the computer to the full extent of its capabilities per the manufacturing specifications in both the manual and automated modes
o Understand Argon’s inventory numbering/coding system
o Able to I-Demand and properly record all related information manually and electronically
o Able to load nests
o Able to check history, verifying and if necessary adding or correcting any recorded information.
o Maintain FMS Log
o Properly start up and shut down system
